This time we would like to introduce you to “KYUKAMURA SETOUCHI TOYO”, an inn in Ehime.
When you are looking for a place to stay on your trip, you are looking for a place that is clean, has a big bath, and serves delicious food, and where you can spend the day while enjoying a spectacular view. It is human nature to want a place where you can spend the day with a spectacular view, but the price will only go up if you say all the things you want to say. But that is not always the case, and the “Kakushi Mura Setouchi Toyo” is a great value for your money.
Outline of the inn
This is Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture
This is Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture. It is one of the four cities along the Seto Inland Sea coastline. If Imabari is connected to the Shimanami Kaido, Saijo is connected to the Kansai region by a ferry route, making it the gateway to the sea.
The hotel is located in front of the road to “Kyukamura Beach”, which is one of the beaches in the city. It is a 17-minute walk (about 1.1 km), which is not a distance that one would be inclined to walk, but even so, the location of the beach, which can be seen with your own eyes, provides excellent access.
Access, etc.

I visited this hot spring as a place to stay this time, but it is also open as a day spa. The bathing fee is 500 yen for the threat. Even though it is located in the suburbs, I was a little upset at the low price.
Walking around the building
Rooms
The rooms are quite spacious. A family of four (including a toddler) is welcomed in an elegant space where they can throw pillows with ease.
The welcome sweets that were prepared for the number of guests but disappeared before I could eat them, probably because they were so delicious.
Dinner!
There is a buffet for dinner, but・・・.
One of the most important things to look forward to at an inn is dinner. The style of dinner at this ryokan seems to be basically a buffet, and when elementary school students make reservations, that buffet is prepared for them.
In contrast, this time I chose a slightly more luxurious, one-rank higher dinner.
The first “Ehime’s Delicious” dish was seafood. First of all, carpaccio.
Then, a plate of sashimi that was so plentiful that it spilled all over the table.
Beer. Creamy foam.
Teppan-yaki (teppan grill).
The fish boiled in soy sauce, I think it’s a nodoguro. It is light and goes well with sake (the second glass).
Tempura… By this time, my stomach was feeling pretty good.
After I was feeling good, I was told, “It will take a few minutes to finish cooking. He only turned on the fire and went away.
Miso soup. It tastes warm and comforting even on a full stomach.
Melon and grape for dessert.
That’s all for now. It was a full course menu that can only be described as a true enjoyment of the Setouchi area.
Breakfast is a buffet
There is no special menu for breakfast. The main dish is this all-you-can-eat morning donburi with various rice accompaniments. Jako (baby sardines), natto (fermented soybeans), okra (okra), pickles, hot eggs, cod roe, and many more.
There are also a variety of other Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes.
It was a meal that made me feel like I had eaten enough for two adults, and I felt energized from the morning.
By the way, the seats for dinner are fixed, but breakfast is served in order of seating, so if you take a seat early, you can enjoy your meal with a view like this.
Hiuchi Nada Onsen with a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea
This inn is located on a hill facing the coast of the Seto Inland Sea. So, the views from everywhere are all spectacular. The Hiuchi Nada Onsen is designed so that you can soak in the hot spring while admiring the view.
I can’t go in there with a camera, so I’ll just quote from the website of the vacation village, but the baths are all made of glass and offer a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea.
Furthermore, from the open-air bath, you can see the panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea as much as you like. It is especially nice to take a bath while looking at the sea level line where the boundary line between morning, evening, and night is still blurred.
The view from the terrace is superb
The view from the open-air bath is the best, so naturally you can also enjoy a wonderful view from the terrace. Here is an evening view. Saijo City is along the east coast, so you cannot see the sunset.
So, the best thing to do is to try a little harder in the morning and take a morning bath, and the view from the terrace behind the store is spectacular.
Unfortunately, there were a lot of clouds, but this is not something that can be managed by human power. The morning sun peeked through the clouds.
Summary
That’s all for this time.
We chose individual kaiseki for dinner, but as far as the children’s portion was concerned, the buffet meal was also enjoyable enough. The outdoor baths with a spectacular view are open at night until 24:00, and in the morning from 5:00 until 9:00 before check-out, but I definitely recommend taking a bath while overlooking the morning sun.
I was originally looking for a beautiful inn close to the beach, but I found it unexpectedly satisfying.
